DeepInfra raises $107M Series B to scale the inference cloud — read the announcement

Wan3.0 is an all-in-one video generation model from Wan-AI, hosted on DeepInfra. It covers reference-based generation, editing, replication, and driving in a single model, and it accepts images, video clips, audio, documents, and web links as input.
Use it for cinematic storytelling, social media content, and video editing. Every generation includes synchronized audio by default, and the model keeps characters stable and recognizable across a clip.
| Metric | Specification | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum resolution | 1080P | 480P, 720P, and 1080P tiers |
| Frame rate | 30 fps | Output is an MP4 video |
| Duration | 2 to 30 seconds | Set -1 to let the model choose |
| Audio | Generated by default | Set audio to false for silent output |
| Reference inputs | Images, video, audio, files, links | Up to 20 reference assets per request |
Artificial Analysis measures video quality through blind user votes in its Video Arena. Wan3.0 ranks first on both of its text-to-video leaderboards.
| Leaderboard | Elo | Rank |
|---|---|---|
| Text-to-video with audio | 1,173 (95% interval 1,157 to 1,189) | 1 |
| Text-to-video without audio | 1,134 | 1 |
On the with-audio board, Wan3.0 leads Utopai X at 1,166 and Dreamina Seedance 2.5 at 1,159. The rank interval spans first to third, so the top models sit close together.
| Feature | Wan2.7 | Wan3.0 |
|---|---|---|
| Input types | Image or reference video, depending on the model | Text, images, video, audio, files, and web links |
| Maximum duration | 15 seconds | 30 seconds |
| Models on DeepInfra | Separate image-to-video and reference-to-video models | One model for every workflow |
| Price on DeepInfra | $0.10 per second | $0.20 per second |
Both Wan2.7 models remain available, including Wan2.7 image-to-video. Alibaba introduced video editing in Wan2.7, and Wan3.0 carries it forward.
To use Wan3.0-Video, you need a DeepInfra account and an API key. DeepInfra applies a zero-retention policy to inputs and outputs.
Create a key in the DeepInfra dashboard and pass it in the Authorization header of every request:
Authorization: Bearer <DEEPINFRA_API_KEY>
The example below generates a short video with Python.
import os
import requests
url = "https://api.deepinfra.com/v1/inference/Wan-AI/Wan3.0-Video"
headers = {
"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['DEEPINFRA_API_KEY']}",
"Content-Type": "application/json",
}
payload = {
"prompt": "A cinematic drone shot flying over a misty pine forest at sunrise",
"duration": 5,
"resolution": "720P",
"audio": True,
"prompt_extend": True,
}
response = requests.post(url, headers=headers, json=payload)
print(response.json()["video_url"])To guide a generation with reference media, add a media array. Refer to each asset in the prompt as Image 1, Video 1, and so on, numbered in the order the assets appear in the array.
payload = {
"prompt": "Image 1 walks through a rainy neon street at night",
"media": [
{"type": "reference_image", "url": "https://example.com/character.png"}
],
"duration": 8,
}Each request needs either a prompt or media.
| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| prompt | string | Empty | Text description of the video. Use Image n or Video n to reference assets in the media array. |
| media | array | Empty | Input media objects, each with a type and a url. |
| duration | integer | 5 | Video length from 2 to 30 seconds. Set -1 for a model-chosen duration. |
| resolution | string | 1080P | Output tier: 480P, 720P, or 1080P. |
| ratio | string | adaptive | Aspect ratio such as 16:9 or 9:16. Adaptive derives the ratio from input media. |
| audio | boolean | true | Generates a synchronized audio track. |
| prompt_extend | boolean | true | Rewrites the prompt to improve output quality. |
| watermark | boolean | false | Adds an AI-generated watermark. |
| seed | integer | None | Value from 0 to 2147483647 for reproducible outputs. |
Media entries use one of these types: first_frame, last_frame, reference_image, reference_video, reference_audio, file, or link. Reference types cannot be combined with first_frame or last_frame. When a request includes a reference_video, the input and output durations together must stay within 30 seconds.
| Input type | Limit | Formats and notes |
|---|---|---|
| Text prompt | 20,000 characters | Describes the scene, motion, and audio |
| Reference images | 10 images | JPEG, PNG, BMP, and WEBP, up to 20 MB each |
| Reference videos | 5 clips, 15 seconds total | MP4 and MOV, up to 100 MB each |
| Reference audio | 5 clips, 15 seconds total | WAV and MP3, up to 15 MB each |
| Documents | 1 file, up to 50 pages | PDF, DOCX, PPTX, and Markdown, up to 100 MB |
| Web links | 1 link | Public URLs that do not require a login |
The API returns a JSON payload with a link to the generated video. An inference_status object reports the status, runtime, and cost of the request.
{
"video_url": "https://example.com/video.mp4",
"request_id": null,
"inference_status": {
"status": "succeeded",
"runtime_ms": 0,
"cost": 0.0
}
}Wan3.0-Video is billed at $0.20 per second of generated video. A 10-second clip costs $2.00, and a 30-second clip costs $6.00. DeepInfra lists the rate per second of generated output.
Wan3.0-Video combines omni-modal input with audio and video output in one model. Creators can turn text, images, and documents into finished video without assembling a multi-model pipeline.
DeepInfra also hosts other video models that accept reference inputs, such as ByteDance Seedance 2.0, so you can compare outputs through the same API.
AI Spend Audit: How to Reduce Costs With Open Models<p>In 2026, mentions of open-weight or open-source models on US earnings calls and at investor conferences ran about six times higher compared to the last year. The companies doing the talking are no longer only tech firms. PNC, CH Robinson and Siemens have all discussed open-weight models in recent weeks. The clearest example is Tinder. […]</p>

Fine-Tuning vs RAG vs Prompting: 2026 Guide<p>When an AI system yields unreliable answers, the root cause could be an unclear system prompt, missing context, poor retrieval quality, or simply using the wrong base model. Teams end up spending weeks experimenting with prompt changes, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or fine-tuning to improve response quality. But before deciding which technique to adopt, it is […]</p>
